Nige that looks like a jet pump, it'll have PPO innards which will be OK for shifting veg/bio until the ejector bit softens and shears off.  Best avoided I'm afraid.

Thanks for that Tony.....I'll not bother with that one now.

You going to bid on the other MS, Nige?

I'm going to have a punt at the other one Mark linked to:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Water-Pump-And-Motor-Jex-M-a080-/300912564316?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item460fc9585c

....unless somebody knows of a good reason not to. ie suitability etc

I was referring to this one ... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=271214160549&ssPageName=ADME:B:SS:GB:1123#ht_177wt_1066

If not I may have a bash at that if the seller will pack for courier.  Still no bids with two days to go.

It's all yours bud. Good luck.

Looks like this might be woth a punt if you're in the Taunton area...

Description says bits are broken, but if it's cheap one or two bits must be salvagable.

I use one of those pumps for 1u filtering into barrels - it's a vane pump.

And just like it, the plastic fan cover is missing - mine dissolved in bio splashes, and the leccy box on top is going the same way.

It doesn't overheat from just filling 25l drums a few at a time but I wouldn't want to run it continuously like that.

Here's a little magnetically coupled chemical pump - would pick it up for its 99p but I already have a couple!

Do you think this would stand up to ASM ?
I have a cunning plan.

Chemically it should be fine but isn't ASM quite gloopy?

Good point, maybe a gear pump is more the ticket.

But then you have the metal on metal problem instead... unless you can buy nylon gear pumps?

Smart arse.

Well I know you can get diaphragm chemical dosing pumps, so maybe this is the way to go, but they are £££.

With the playing about I've been doing dosing with small amounts of ASM, I've been toying with the idea of a peristaltic pump.  Very low flow rate butwould that do what you want?

The Bio-Grail if I remember correctly.

Will you get it done before the BBB or can Alex finish it on his own?
