I'm waiting for a Duo pump to turn up, l've heard they're twice as good as a Mono.

You know those little things you need to do but never seem to get round to doing, usually what the wife wants doing, well it ended up as one of those.

They're in the envelope and been on the kitchen counter since I first said I'd send'm, I'll post the buggers tomorrow, 'onest, promise.

Oh ... believe me I don't want doing what your wife wants doing.

I don't think I'm even capable of doing what your wife wants doing!

A couple of Monos ...

A newish MS ...

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MONO-CMS241-PUMP-240V-CELLAR-WELL-GARDEN-IRRIGATION-FUEL-OIL-ETC-/262143912535?

And a very old type I've not seen before, think it's an M13 ...

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Water-Pump-For-Stationary-Engine-Mono-Pumps-Ltd-/171997928417?#ht_92wt_1048

Advert says it turns freely.  Not good for a Mono!

Interesting orientation of the mounting rails ... wonder how you tension the belt with them?

at the moment, im doing ok with pumps....whoops, there goes that...

i got one of these

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/231610851826?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

better quality than the sidwil copies, the electric box is all metal, the whole body has cooling fins on and the fan really blows the air over it.

its noisy, but shifts cold oil really well.

the filter on the pick up side does get blocked with debris ( i use it for emptying collected 60`s), but its easy to clean out as you only need an allen key to get to it.

quite chuffed so far....

Another vane pump.

If it copes with cold WVO it's doing really well.  Certainly looks better quality than most.

Ged, do you know if it has a plastic or metal impeller? I'm just wondering how they would stand up to pumping bio.

If I was still pump hunting, I'd be after this bad boy:

133lpm multistage, tasty.
