I'm normal
« on: October 30, 2016, 09:47:43 PM »
I feel like a normal Joe public.

It started two weeks ago when I brought an Audi A4, I noticed a lack of respect from other road users.

Yesterday it hit home as I watched my old Discovery drive off down the road with it's new owner inside.

Today I'm a normal person driving a run of the mill eurobox.

WHAT HAVE I DONE.

It must be added that the Audi is running veg, so I'm not completely normal (and lets face it, never will be) but I feel normal.

If you're normal then there's hope for the rest of us.

Fit a bullbar to it, and some strategically placed weldmesh panels, Mad Max style.
Gotta get respect on the street.

I felt the same moving from the big Jap busses to the Passat.

But the fuel consumption and not making batches so often makes up for it :)

(Having moved, I still don't have my kit in the garage yet - fuel stock is dwindling slowly!)

Shame it's a long trek, but if you're in my vicinity, I have spare here.

If the womble now classes himself as normal I'm glad I'm not in any way or form.

Guys, guys, I said I feel normal, I never clamed to actually be normal.

I can't even convince myself I'm normal, so there's no chance I could convince you lot, you know me too well.

Mark,

Why the swap back - you seemed pretty keen on the offroad stuff?

I was, I had great fun, but the disco was suffering.
It got to the point that it needed welding, again, even parts that had been patched in the past will need attention soon.
I don't regret owning it at all, I do regret not keeping up with the maintenance due to time and money, so it was time to move it on while it still had some value and before it was just a parts car.

The Audi although smooth, quiet, powerful and economical (48 mpg showing at present) just isn't as enjoyable to drive, it's missing that feel good feeling, but has no rust (that I've found) and should be far more reliable.

I'm driving a Honda Airwave (petrol) and I'm about to buy a house.

Does this make me normal?

I've just come in from sneaking round my fiefdom with an air rifle, with a torch stuck to the end of it, trying to shoot rats. (I failed)
Does this make me normal?

Oh, actually, scratch that, I think I know the answer already.........

i just leave the nice plastic pot the rat poison comes in somewhere where they can find it. greed takes care of rest. the greedy little blighters managed to finish off a whole pot full in a couple of days. they  didnt come back. don't even bother opening it. they soon work out how to get into it all by themselves.
