Aim

This trial is suggested by Twenty4Seven. It's not scientific, but may be interesting if enough members participate. The aim is to see if there's any noticeable change in biodiesel due to possible oxidisation. Please feel free to participate, the more people contributing the better. You'll need wiki editing rights to participate so please contact one of the admin team if your status needs upgrading. You can PM them on the forum using one of the links at the top of thispage.

Method

Oxidisation test.jpg

Put about 2-3mm depth of biodiesel into an uncovered, shallow dish, set aside and report any changes ... colour, viscosity etc. In the initial observations try and list the type of feed stock used, the production method and type of washing if any.

If possible include a dish with copper pieces and one with iron, as per photo right.

Observations should be made once a week.
