quick note on the £23 tam105 copies

just wired one up (first one I've wired up)

with the top cover off, you can see down into the motor, and there's a far bit of empty space there... the motor windings are a good inch and a half shorter than the motor body

photos...

supposed to be 370watts vs a tam 300watts (iirc)

less coper fill normally means less power

but I guess these motors could just be less efficient... mine has been running fine, pumping just as much as the tam105 it replaced

on the up side... there's a small hole in the bottom of the pump body... so if the pump seal go whatever is being pumped should drip out of that hole instead of filling the motor housing :-)

Im planning on doing so...

dont know how much yet though.  Need to see how much i spend on car parts this week : /

Something else has arrived on ebay that id like more than adding three monos to my collection, so (fair warning) - i will not be bidding on the set of three.

If someone else purchases them, however, i may well still be keen on 1-off, but, unless they stay at £70 (which i think is unlikely) i dont think it would be sensible for me to bid on the set.

I must stop doing this, it's getting a bit of a compulsion.

I put a silly snipe bid in on this Mono as no one expressed an interest and won it for £16.00.  The seller wants £15.00 postage, but still a good total price.

The shrink was for me.  I can cope with the voices, but when music starts invading my head it's time to get help!

This might go for peanuts. Petrol engine water pump. Old 'un, non runner.
I'd be tempted myself if it was on my doorstep.

I'm very tempted by that one, it's exactly the same as the one I'm currently using and I'd hate to be without one if it ever failed.
