All going in the skip, they all work too. That is not even the half of them!

All going in the skip

To be sure, that was before you got involved, right?

As in they were going in the skip...

rather than they are going in the skip?

Whilst they look nice bits of kit, I bet they are all fairly powerful three phase units which therefore have limited appeal outside of industry

Julian, after my lathe the pillar drill the bench grinder, the honda genny and the yet to receiver petrol pressure washer I have absolutly no space for one, I don't really need any of them either......

Still that multi stager was winking at me so I will have a chat with the guys doing the clearing out. Weights an absolute ton.

Jules some of them are 415 but when I looked at the controls box I seem to remember it being single phase.

Yeah I think I will nab it its got a lovely control panel on it.

I am a pump whore? Do I need Help?

Yes you are and no you don't ;)

The trouble with those big circulation pumps is the size and weight and three-phasedness.

Having run a 3 phase pump for the past few years via an inverter, I'd highly recommend it.

The inverter gives you so much control over the motor, you can instantly see if there's something clogging up the impeller or run it at half speed for circulation which uses about 1/4 the power of full speed. I actually run mine at 60Hz during the reaction phase too - it makes quite a difference to the reaction speed.

I didn't think that a 3 phase pump + inverter was that much more expensive than a large single phase pump.

I've got an inverter and a 3 phase gear pump that Mark gave me, I keep meaning to try it but never quite get around to getting the inverter set up correctly.  So many parameters!  I'm sure you're very familiar with these things but mine feels rather counter intuitive!

Generally, all you need to set up is max current and max frequency.

Leave everything else as default.

What difference does running it at 60Hz  make to enable it to complete reactions quicker ?

I've had a Calpeda pump delivered today,  60ltr/min, brand spanking new with the placcy plugs still fitted and all the paperwork, the lot for the princely price of 40 smackerunies, Bingo.

You'd have got it cheaper if I hadn't bid against you,  err, sorry but I didn't know.
