Back tracking a little -
Chap came from the gas company. I could have refused him entry, however, i suspect that would have created a whole additional set of issues.
So, he came, he saw, he left. He was just a contracted inspector, and knew nothing of potential outcome.
From there, i called Calor's customer services.
They put me on to another department.
Who told me to call the local distributor. This was the aggressive chap who told me i would kill myself.
He asked me if i wanted to speak with their legal team, so i called them.
Bare in mind that, at this point, i was on the system anyhow, so its always better to take these things on, rather than let them come to you.
Called the legal people. Blah blah blah.. metal theft, people blowing themselves up, etc. The short of it being that ive now been told, there going to call off the hounds, and someone is coming to pick up the remnants tomorrow.
Im told even the water board are now on red alert, due to me tipping gas down the drain. (what my neighbor reported).
So, an entertaining morning. Nothing more will come of it, but im a cylinder down.
Yes, before anyone posts about "you shouldnt have let them in", ill re-itterate - i suspect that could have caused further issues. Maybe, maybe not, but either way, that was the path i took.
