And to which Julian would you be refering?  Other than a small layer at the bottom of my settling barrels, I have NO soap.

Look, I've spent several days wrestling with 80 ltrs of the stuff trying to get it back to bio, having previously suffered weeks of derision instead of sympathy and support, so I recon I'm allowed to show off!

They will probably have signed up before they find they cant use it, ....

I didn't need to sign up for tinypic ... is that normal?

Never needed to sign up to tinypics.

I think that Tinypics and photobucket are one and the same.

The straight run from the pump to the reactor, what's on the end of it inside the reactor ?I was going to fit the eductor on that one.

I ask as the venturi should be on this run, not T'd off of it, as the T will reduce flow and have adverse effects of on the venturi.I did wonder about that.

A little tip is to pull the swept bends slowly, this stops the rippling on the inside of the bend.

What volume is the tank ?300 litres.

My that is a big one you've got there!

The venturi should be fine on the tee'd off section as there is plenty of straight pipe before it for the liquid to settle down into a laminar flow.  On my processor it is also teed off the main loop with a good run before it, and that pulled near perfect vacuum with water :)

The only thing I would say is that there is quite a height of liquid after the venturi, this back pressure may well kill the venturi's performance.  It would benefit form being up higher, right before the discharge bend.

That has the additional benefit that if the pump stops during demething, the processor won't drain out of the venturi port (it's good practise to loop any pipes on the port side above liquid level anyway, just in case...)

Also, given the weight of liquid inside in combination with the vessel, are those legs up to keeping it upright?  It looks a little... unnerving, if you know what I mean?

Thank you Tony. I put the venturi there as I thought that there had to be a reasonably long straight run after it.............and yes, will loop the pipes to above the liquid level.

I thought exactly the same when I first saw the frame, but I have been assured that it is man enough for the job.

I dont much like the look of those legs either. If they were straight, then no problem, or even if they were gusseted. What would worry me is that they are not going to slowly bend, they'll be fine on second, then just collapse. They would make me nervous.
