As above guys, ive been searching the forum but would like to be pointed in the right direction on a setup that
Would be ideal for myself who is new to this BD processing. And I suppose theres no better people to ask then you guys who are homebrewing already.

In just about every respect, the best way is to build one.

It's very much cheaper than buying and you get to learn about, and feel confident with, your own machine.

You only need basic plumbing and electrical skills and a good read of the wiki.

Failing that there are members on here who will build a SAFE processor to suit your requirements and train you how to use it ... just DON'T buy anything off eBay and be very careful with processors advertised on the internet (many are dangerous).

Im helping a friend build one at the moment.

(the plan was that i watched and answered questions, but, alas...)

If you can locate somone close to you who has built a unit, im sure they would help.

Fact is you can make bio with a drum, a pump, some pipes and not much else. Maybe an air pump to bubble the Meth out if you're not water washing.

It's the Meth recovery and everything else that adds to a plant's complexity - it really depends what you want to do (water wash, or demeth and settle)?

Thanks for your replys guys,

Im thinking allong the lines of waterwashing rather than the de-mething and settling route, the demeth seems a bit complex at this stage for me $:-\$ .

So if I wanted to built a processor that could do the job from start to finish using the water wash method
What would be the basics to get me going???

I understand im probably asking questions that have been answered on the wiki but id rather pick
Your brains breifly and get a idea of componants and cost.

Get an oil collection before you start buying/making kit.
Can you fabricate? You going to need a coned drum to start with, then build it up from there.

Start with a GL type unit, these are the safest home built reactor, they can be upgraded if and when you feel the need.

The easyest way is to start with a central heating water cylinder (immersion tank), but these are quite small if you do a reasonable amount of miles,
so you may want to go for a 205L drum with a cone on the bottom, jamesrl can make you anything from this to a full setup.

But as said above, get an oil collection round sorted first as this can be the hardest part.

Im a panel beater by proffession which as some might know involves allot of fabricating and welding of new panels, Ive already started whith the oil collection side of things, so I just need to crack on with the fabricating of the processor.

A cone bottomed 205 will give you a batch size of 180L (of oil) and takes no longer to compleat a batch than a smaller unit,
so it's the way to go for you.

It's not just the first tank of fuel that gives you that nice warm feeling, it stays with you for many years.
