I'm a little confused here, Methanol freezes at approx -97°C and sodium is solid up to +97°C.

Taking into account the temperatures where the two are in a solid state and the 70/30 ratio I'm surprise people are having problems with the state of their ASM.

I'm on my third winter using ASM and I can't recall ever having a problem with crystals or solids forming in the liquid.

Keith definitely has a problem with the Drum of ASM that froze solid, something is not right with it for sure, I have about 5 litre's left in a drum and it was unaffected by the cold here.

Why not check the specific gravity of both drums of ASM? it may give a pointer to any problem.

I check my stock of ASM today, NO problems to report.

It got down to -13 around here last week and I know the ASM in my shed was liquid 'cause I had to move the cubie.

I reckon he's bought Aqueous Catalyst.  :D :D

IIRC the Sg of 30% ASM is 0.9, well that the Sg used in the conversion formula.

As for fishing, I ain't got a licence.

Had a quick google and the two examples showed 0.97 @ 20c, but Nige could confirm from the cert of conformity.

Just had a reply from my supplier and the S.G @ 20C is 0.97
