Decided to cold wash my latest batch. Having obtained a complete 10/90 pass via a 2 stage reaction i opted to cold wash; 1 to save money and 2 to to try something different. I noticed that cold washing appeared to cause greater soap to settle after each wash cycle. I washed the batch 5 times which is the same as my usual hot wash process yet by cold washing I appeared to be removing more soap. Water was then crystal clear so I then dried my batch using the same process as usual and sent a sample away for testing.
Results for soap content came back non-detectable i.e. less than 10ppm. 
It may have been beginners luck but I'm liking the results.
I will continue to cold wash for my next few batches to confirm if cold washing really is the way forward.

In my experience thus far, no. It was my first attempt at it but I'm very happy with the results.
dgs tested my sample and the soap was non-detectable which I'm informed means <10ppm.

When I used to wash it was always cold, I didn't think anyone used warm water, certainly not when I was washing, HCII first told me to do it cold when I asked about washing for the first time and I always had good results.

Chug I don't mean using warm water....I mean using cold water straight from my mains supply and washing when the bio is also cold/ambient temperature. Initially I was looking to see if I could reduce processing costs/time by now having to heat the bio prior to washing.

Initial results look promising but further testing will be necessary just incase it was a fluke this time around.

I always washed cold bio with cold water, its not a fluke it works perfectly

Using warm water and/or warm bio seems all wrong to me, if people do this then things have gone backwards it seems.

 I have always used hot water in my hot bio and had no problems what so ever and I use a 5 inch twin blade paddle running at 2850rpm now that's what you call washing bio lol

What sort of soap content are you left with on completion of your washing process?
