New to KOH
« on: September 17, 2014, 08:41:54 PM »
Trying KOH for the first time soon - any tips on what to expect?

It's 90% pure so I'll be compensating for that and scaling the quantity for 7g vs 5g litre base.

I understand KOH soaps take longer to settle out too?

Looking forward to liquid glyc and trying it on my new liquid pumped atomising burner nozzle, this thing will be like a flamethrower :)

£40 for 25kg vs £20 for NaOH it'd better be good ;)

I guess prices vary - it's less than what Trinity are charging anyway.

Ive used koh, but not paid attention (sorry).

One thing that i was doing (before i ran out) which worked nicely, was to do s1 with cheap and brutal naoh, and then s2 with koh, resulting in clean, dry, liquid glycerol for the next batch.

When i next buy some koh, ill do the same again.

Not got quite as far as using KOH yet but I a moment of boredom thinking about burning liquid fuels did lead to this ;)

That should sort out the shed spiders ;)
