I have a local friend here, who is quite methodical, however, had the misfortune to buy one of the plastic commercial units, and has just followed the directions....
He does not demeth at all, but settles out the glycerol, and passes the fuel through an eco2pure tower. Then a bit of hanging about, and into the car.
Im not familiar with eco2pure anyhow, but i still thought you had to demeth? That aside, he has just had a bill for £300ish, as various lights kept coming on on his modern car, and it seems they scooped a load of glycerol out of the tank.
So, what's his best option, do you think? He can weld etc. and does not mind spending money on a solution, so long as it works.
My shortlist -
Some sort of mist wash system?
Titrated water wash?
Continue as he is, but run evreything through a centrifuge for a while before the car (again, im unfamiliar with eco2pure - do you really not have to demeth?)
Again, he is very methodical (he filters his feedstock to some crazy micron level before it goes in the processor for example, even though ive tried to talk him out of it!) and i think he would probably rather a process that did not require too many variables or possibility for error (ie im not sure about the acid / water wash option).
What do you think?
(i tried water washing once - i was in a hard, alkaline water area then - split the emulsion with acid, but it still reformed on the next wash - first and last time i tried, even though i now live in a very soft water area)
