glyc pre wash

found out today why you should wait till temp drops to 65c before adding the glyc.
luckily i was at hand to mop up the shaving foam

Why does adding glyc over 65c cause a problem, is it the glyc boiling off?

yes, and then left  the valve open to the venturi drawing in air. started to foam up.

That's interesting, on my last batch I got some oil bubbling up through the vapour circuit at the end of my demething. It couldn't have been methanol boiling off because that was all long gone, and it couldn't have been thermal expansion of the oil in the tank either because the temperature had been at 90 for the whole process and the heater was off. Maybe there was still some glyc in there, who knows?

This can happen if your bio is a bit soapy, I don't know why but someone else may help on this.

Now the ambient temp is getting better i dont heat up the wvo to gly pre wash. I use a seperate drum to pre wash, i add 20lt of gly to 150lt of wvo pump mix for 1 hour settle for 12 hours drain off gly and pump into processor.The gly absorbs any water from the wvo. PS. the oil does need heating up ln the colder months, but only to about 35c.
