I've been processing some really nasty oil recently, very wet.
Current batch of 125l I got maybe 8 litres of water out of after heating - yuk.
Single stage overdose was never going to cut it. I get 80% conversion but no more with excess catalyst.
But drop the glyc and stick in 2l of Meth with 180g of NaOH and it's a clear pass
Not 80/20 at all but 91/9. I've done it with less on the second stage too. Most of the Meth remains, it's just dropping the glyc and using enough Meth to get more catalyst in that does it for the last stage.
