anyone used donut oil for biodiesel. I have collected 240 litres today, my concerns are that it smells very sweet. I'm worried that the sugars will upset the reaction, is this something I should be concerned about?

I put this question up once, and the answer was, no problem.
It's very lightly used oil. It can't be overused, coz it taints the donuts, and the sugaring is done once they are cooked, away from the oil.
Use it, it's good oil.

Course filter it well before it goes i the reactor mind. Some of these donut boys are pretty rough, and they tend to loose some of the donut holes in the oil. You don't want one of them in ya processor pump.

no problem. i had my oil  anylised by  cambs uni chemical enginnering dept. the sugar didnt show as a problem. i use fresh ingreiants in my donuts. the dried mix shouldnt be a problem. as GM says if you try to overuse it it taints the donuts. i change my oil after about 10 hours of continuous use.

I have a collection from a local bakery and it's some of the best oil I collect.  You should have no problems.

As has been said, doughnuts are cooked before adding the sugar.  Best of all the old chap who runs the bakery refuses to take any payment, saying I'm doing him a favour and often sends me away with a fresh loaf or a doughnut or two ... would that all collections were like that!
