has anyone used rain water to wash bio?

is it better than tap water?

would rain water be ionised? or is it de-ionised?

Good point, rain water is soft, whereas tap water is hard.

Soap produces more foam in soft water, less in hard water.

So would there be a benefit in using soft wash water ?

to be de-ionied or ionised (whichever it is?) doesnt it need to NOT! touch anything metal when stored?

Nige was going to run some tests. I remember giving him a sample of our slightly hard water and the same water that had been through a softener.

Did anything come of that, Nige?

As I am on a water meter, I have 2 water butts and two bins that I fill with rain water.

I a cannot conclusively say if it better or not, but the from the butt water in ice cold when I use it. It does seem to wash well, even when used in this weather.

Where I live, the water here is quite HARD anyway.
