How things have changed
« on: February 13, 2013, 06:38:16 PM »
I don't know about the rest of you,
but find it amusing that we (biopowered members) seem to have become a splinter group that are now advising on,
what used to be, the place for up to date bio production techniques.

Keep up the good work guys, for as far as I can tell,  we are now the most advanced people in home brewing.

Completely agree!  Home brewing has become interesting again.

I looked into one of the U.S. sites the other night and realised how things have moved in the last year or so and especially the last couple of months.  Also good to see members really collaborating for a common goal.. I'm Lovin it!

As long as we all keep an open mind and dont dismiss ideas no matter how strange then hopefully that will remain the case

Paul, I was chatting to Dave at Basic last week, he has nothing but good words to say about you.

It's funny as I was explaining acid washing and other stuff to him, and how this guy on the forum was helping push things forward, which was unusual for a commercial brewer, then we realised that we had both being talking about the same man, you.

I just think its really good that were a experienced little community that is open to new ideas and willing to give something a try if it seems worthwhile.
I'm having good success with acetone with my process and I wouldn't have got into that if others had been trying different things and then got everyone's interest up.

Cheers all lets keep it going

Well we started out from day one with the ethos that even the most stupid sounding ideas are worth a try because "you never know" so not dismissing anything.  Part of the excitement is trying new stuff even if it turns out to be wrong, at least it keeps the momentum going.  Nothing could be worse than an experienced "expert" who is a little stuck in their ways telling you not to bother because in their opinion it's not worth doing.  It's all worth doing - and taking photos - so we can see the mess/odd looking samples/unusual results and maybe learn something in the process.  It's doubly exciting the results don't fit the expectation and we don't know why :)

Viva la revolution!

In the few months I've been active on here I learnt more about bio than I did in a few years previously.

Yes I could make bio (and soap), but now I've got far more understanding of what goes on and why.

Ah! so true, see, you don't know what you didn't know until you know what you didn't know but even then there's stuff you still don't know. Know what I mean?
