TV plugged into router

hi all

just plugged me TV into the router with an ethernet cable and its doing stuff updating sofware at the mo

anyone else got this setup and tell me what i can do with it?

I've got my Sky+HD box plugged into the router so I can watch iPlayer, 4OD and the like through it and onto the TV.

7+ years of making bio.

ok it finds my laptop and looks like it wants to share windows media player, my laptop is in the list on the tv panel but when i click on it i get cant connect to rotary pc ? my laptop is called rotary pc.

Which OS are you running on the laptop. You may well need to enable file sharing on media streaming on the laptop.

In Windows 7 these options are found in the 'Advanced Sharing Settings' in the Network and sharing centre

Change advanced sharing settings.       on the left.

ok in htere and all is allowed on each setting

i did turn off the need for a password thought it maybe that as the TV has no keyboard
