Mark, have you looked at this page?  http://www.biopowered.co.uk/wiki/Creating_pages

Just for pratice try making a spoof page, you can always delete it when your ready to try one in earnest.

If you don't put categories at the bottom of the page, it will never get indexed, so never show on the main page.

The only way to learn is to play.  Try it and give me a shout if you run into difficulties.
