And in other news, astronomers discover two new planets. They are naming then RMR and RML. :P

What's the dark patch on the right hand side of the top one?

They'd look good on the front of a psytrance album.

you can do this trick with your eyes, if youre curious -

the shaddow from the bood vessels always fall in the same (more or less) place on the retina, so your brain filters them out, and you dont see them, even though they are there.

if you look forward in a darkish room, and shine a small beam of light (small torch etc) at the side of your eye and wobble it about, you cast the shaddows differently, and your brain does not filter them in the same way, so you suddenly see this network of blood vessels across your vision - these all tie into one spot where the supply comes in and the optic nerve attatches also.

i have not done it for years, but its curious.  if you want a term to google, go for "Purkinje tree"

These days I get my prescription from the optician who does the eye test and order the glasses online from this place in Derby.

My last pair cost £13 delivered. You can get them even cheaper if you order from China but you sometimes get caught for import duty which negates your saving.
