Looks like a total of £140k of oil stolen though, that's a massive amount! It's not like they nicked a couple of tins.
There's no way that's accurate though. Its like when they stop some barge full of hash, and then calculate it at £5 bag prices.
In total, West Midlands detectives identified 227 oil theft offences resulting in a loss of £71,380 for the company Bradley and Walker’s scam operation so closely resembled with an additional £76,000 worth of oil stolen from KFC.
...so,
£71,380 + £76,000 = £147 380
/ 227
= £649.251101
They had a transit van, and a home made syphoning device. And yet they *averaged* £649 worth on every theft.
What's the going rate for an IBC now, £450 ish, give or take £100? So that's more than 1000ltrs averaged on every pickup, with their "homemade siphoning kit"
The only other way to read it is "227 oil theft offences" as in 227 laws broken. I kinda doubt there are 227 laws on the theft of wvo to break!
