I visit here more these days than I ever did before. The downside is that some on the VOD who piss me off also post on here...and piss me off. Some folk you can't get away from.

Not I. I couldn't give a stuff what anyone says. If I don't like what someone posts, I'll either ignore it, or tell them so.

Everything is cool over here. I've told the guy who pisses me off about his posts. He still posts but I do my best to deal with it. Normally by logging out.

compared with some of the american sites i am on this and VOD are a picture of  politeness and good taste. ignoring people who piss you off is the only way. bit like some of the pubs around here. still full of the same people but ignoring each other because of something someone might have said, lost in the mists of time.

Last few weeks, I've not posted on either much.  I'll look in on the VOD but tend to post more on here these days.

Reasons are several ...

I feel there's too much non bio/veg content on the VOD ... here is much more focused.

The VOD seems to attract newcomers who are out just to save money and are not interested in moving the discipline forward by contributing input to the forum ... here is developing to be more open to new ideas.

Despite the long awaited update, the functions of the VOD software are some what lacking and the search facility is absolutely pants ... the software Tony has selected, and continually updates, for biopowered is a vast improvement.

I'm not keen on the lack of transparency with which the VOD is run, especially having asked direct questions and been ignored ... here we try and keep things as transparent as possible.  No one person is deemed to "own" either the wiki or forum and on several occasions we've asked how things could be improved and where possible acted upon the suggestions.

I'm not keen on the VOD generating revenue which was not admitted and I think even denied, until just recently. This especially whenever there was a problem kind hearted souls dipped into their pockets to help out ... here, thanks to the good offices of Tony, the hosting is free and I think domain registration is about 3 quid a year (a sum over which the admin fought for the privilege to pay!)  I like the ethos that we've set up here in that it's an enthusiasts wiki and forum, non commercial and not for profit.

I know who you mean, Nige ... it's that tosser who insists on using commas with no space after them ... it annoys the hell out of me too!

Hello,,,,,,,,its the tosser here :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :),,,,,,,,,,,,!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thought it had been nice and quiet, what were you nicked for this time Julian?,stealing a cement mixer from the Heathrow area?

I post more on here now than the VOD as i prefer the openness to new ideas, although i still go off topic :)
I do think it needs a larger range of smillies though, more to piss Julian off with!

Well I am pleased others think the same as me - I was beginning to doubt my sanity after this afternoon's session
