Cold down 'ere

Surprised to find the screen needed scraping this morning - I think it's time to start leaving 25l drums of bio out for a bit before they go in the car, so any waxing can settle out!

It was minus 1.5C INSIDE my Discovery this morning when I got in it.
I was very thankul that I have dosed my fuel with Wintron and that it is cold filtered to 1 micron on it's way from the storage tank to the vehicle.

It was -1C this morning and 0C  when I left work at 5 O'clock. At these sorts of temperaures I would expect  to see some sort of clouding of my door step samples. However, of the two I have, both are crystal clear. One is winterised with XC40 and the other is unwinterised.

Both are made with ASM.

Now here's the thing, and I did mention this in passing when seeing Keith and Loretta on Saturday, does using ASM lower the cloud point of bio. I think it may have a positive effect on my fuel.

It was 2.5°C at 5am here in sunny Heathrow this morning,
still cold enough to kill the battery in my daughters 306 though.

My Merc is still starting with only 3 glow plugs,
had one go down last week which broke off when I tried to remove it,
that's two I need to drill out now  :(

It's that time of year I wished I'd put underfloor heating down when I laid the floor at the factory

I miss the temp read-out in the golf, so i have no idea what temp is is here.  I do know that the bucket in the yard still had ice on it when i tipped it out late in the day!

Fuel is made from 100% clear liquid veg, with zero drop out, no winteriser - no problems (yet!)

Just about to run out of (high melting point) tallow bio for the boiler though - pleased that the 1000ltrs of contaminated bio is being picked up from max.print later in the day!
