Venturi wanted
« on: November 27, 2023, 07:22:06 AM »
Hi, Does anyone have a venturi to sell? I built on from plans on VOD by dickjotec, it was a '15 minute' easy assemble from copper fittings. It worked great but the diagram is no longer available unfortunately. I Don't want to cast one.

Regards, Dawson

I dont have one for sale but if you change your mind about casting one give me a shout. I have machined cores for several pump sizes.

Dick is registered on here and logged in a few days ago.  You could try sending him a PM.

It's a lowara pump, plate states 30l to 70l / min. Dick no longer has the diagrams, we have spoken.
Nigel, if casting can you just use solder  as opposed to lead?

I've used Nigels venturi cores and they work well. I used a codgered stainless ladle to melt the lead/solder in and poured it into the assembled pipework, quite straight forward to do.

Ok Nigel, I'll have a go at that if that is OK. Is there still a transport link up to Leeds?

How soon do you need a core? I'm going to Caroles sister in Rotherham next Saturday if that helps. I could leave it there.

Will do Dawson. I'll send a PM in the week to let you know all the details. It'll be the same place as last time we met up.

I've put into bag, two cores. One for a 40-60 lpm and one for a 80 lpm. Also in there is a precast 80 lpm venturi that you are quite welcome to have. It's not perfect but I'd be quite happy using it. I reckon though you may need to cast using the 8mm throat version to get the best out of your pump.

The cores are still with me Dawson. We travel up on Saturday morning and we are an hour away from Caroles sister. I'll be in touch when we set off.
