small van to run bio/veg?
« on: April 20, 2021, 08:30:20 AM »
Hi all.  Looking to get a small van to run either bio or veg.  Alas the biomotors website is no more so looking for some advice as to what sort of vehicles to look for.

Have seen a couple of 2000+ Astra 1.7 online, but know nothing about them.

Hi Ian, I had similar aspirations but small veg vans are getting thin on the ground and I ended up with a 56 Peugeot Expert which is DW8 and Lucas that I'm hoping to convert to Bosch.

Other than French offerings, VAG 1.9sdi will run veg but it seems that many Caddys have the wrong pump and Isuzu engined Vauxhall's but they are fairly rare now.

You might be better off finding an estate or using bio which will open up many more options.

Hi Keef.  Thanks for reply, yes have considered an estate although a van would be more useful at the moment.   Even vehicles that will run bio are becoming rarer these days.   My old Volvo 940 estate that would run on anything has now succumbed to the dreaded rust.
