yes internal combustion engines are simple till you try and make one.  would be good to see youngsters creating this sort of thing in college. but doubt that will happen. when i was at college 25 years the practical aspect of engineering was a very small part of the curriculum. spent very little time on the project side of the course. suspect it is even worse now. the most interesting part was analyzing what went wrong in chemical factory explosions. flixbough was a disaster waiting to happen when you read the reports as was bophal.
