Just changed my car
« on: May 24, 2012, 11:47:08 AM »
I may have just done something that's inspired or downright stupid! The jury is still out!
Just sold my landcruiser petrol 4ltr 2004 on LPG and bought a Nissan patrol safari with the td42 deisel engine on a k plate!

Me and the kids are over the moon! The missus thinks its barking!

It's going up on the ramps this pm to check for rust so fingers crossed, motor sounds beautiful though.

I think you're allowed to rub your hands and give an evil laugh at this point :)

What pump does that engine have?  Is it a Bosch jobbie?

Ah yep looks good for veggy based motoring :)

From biomotors: PATROL-4,2 D TURBO/1987-98/TD42/6cyl./4169ccm/91kW/123,76PS/BHP/4000min-1/BOSCH KIKI/IP/1-Tank-12V

Diesel Kiki licensed build of the Bosch VE.

Kinda surprised it's only 124PS given it's a hefty V6, as my Delica's relatively little 2.8 engine puts out 125PS.  Must have lots more torque though.

Small amount of welding needed to chassis, new front shocks, fluids allround and good for 500000 ks, starting to feel quite pleased with myself!

The nice thing about most 4x4s is that they are easy to work on, good luck fixing her up!
