BBB 2016 ... Thank you Lynda and Chug
« on: July 03, 2016, 11:10:06 AM »
As always a very big thank you to Lynda and Chug for putting up with us bunch of reprobates and this years extremely successful white goods recycling project!

Looking forward to next year already, but not quite sure how we are going to top this year's collective engineering project!

Yes, it was a pleasant weekend, good company and lots of laughs but what WILL happen next year.

Another brilliant weekend (although for next year I will have to do something about that bloody uncomfortable bed in the estima)

Chug and Lynda, you seem to have boundless energy.

Does anyone think there would be enough interest in a northern one later in the year.

Once again thanks to Chug and Linda for all their hard work in the run up to, and during the bash, an absolutely smashing weekend in more ways than one.

Thanks also to all who attended, brought stuff to demo, make, drink, eat, etc, as everyone plays a part in making the BBB what it is.

Thank you Lynda and Chug - sorry we had to leave so early on Sunday and didn't see you to say goodbye.

Dominic and Imogen really got into it, I didn't think I'd be able to get Dominic out of the hot tub, and Imogen is still very impressed with Tash's jewellery making skills!

Mark, thank you for the loan and setup/takedown of the caravan, it would absolutely not have been possible for our family to be there without that retreat.

As for the cannon... I'm dumbfounded.  Things that get thrown together at the BBB rarely work so spectacularly, it was definitely star of the weekend - not to mention just a little bit worrying to be near!

I must say Mark, what a very pleasant and helpful young man your son in law is.

Thank you, I'll pass on your comment.

He had a great time, really immersed himself in the spirit of the BBB.

He now understands why it's my mecca.

I think everyone really immersed themselves this year. It just went far too quickly
Hats off to you mark for facilitating the tttonny family accomodation. Thats the kind of gesture this forum is all about.
We are already talking about next year. We plan to get there earlier, stay later, see if we can avoid getting lost (got home via M40 and M4 without touching that god awful M25) and bring far more curry.

The M25 was ok on the way home, yes the variable speed limit was down to 40mph for some of it, but it was moving at 40.

M40 to M4 is the best route for you.

I had to leave on Saturday to be back for work Sunday

on the M25 I saw a rolling road block on the other side of the road... while a copper pulled a 205 litre metal drum out of the road.... did wonder if it was dropped by someone on the way to the BBB :-o

Yes he was very good company.  He was happy as larry sitting out under the stars late on Saturday keeping Steven's rocket stove going.  Hope he feels like coming again next year, I have a feeling he'd be one of those to bring his own designs in and try them :)

In a bizarre coincidence, there's this recent news on airbag recalls:
