FPHE fittings needed
« on: June 29, 2016, 06:20:50 PM »
Julian gave me a flat plate heat exchanger some time ago, as I'm now running veg I'd like to get it fitted, but don't have the right fittings, does anyone have some going spare ?

And is there any chance of getting them to the BBB.

Me Julian?   If so I don't remember, must have been at least three days ago.

You could always silver solder hose tails on to the fittings.  If you have the hose tails I can turn them to fit into the connections with a spigot ideal for silver soldering.

Or use a bit of 15mm copper with an olive soldered on the end.  Ideal if tube fits the ID of the HE fittings.  You could then fit elbows if you need them.

Yes you Julian, was just after I got the Disco.

I'll see if I can get the right fittings before getting into fabricating some.

Richard, thank you for looking.

Check the ID of the HE fittings, If they are a snug fit on 15mm pipe I'll bring my Mapp gas, silver solder and flux to the BBB.

We can all huddle round the flame to keep warm.

Have you got any 15mm copper to see if it fits?

Yes, but it's at the workshop and I'm not sure if I'll get over there before Friday.

So you've come around to my way of thinking.

I'll also need some hose for the coolant, but I have got two T's.

So yeh, I'll supply the T's and you can do the rest, BTW it'll need to be mounted, so a nicely formed bracket would be good, painted of course.

Oh and the coolant will need topping up and the system bleeding, there's a good chap.
