The time has come
« on: March 17, 2016, 10:17:31 PM »
After seven years or so I'm brewing my last batch of bio  :'(

This is due to many factors, time, hassle, lower annual millage, dwindling supplies and the lower cost of diesel against cost of chemicals. Also my mate is making noises about getting his garage back.

I've enjoyed my time brewing and have learnt an awful lot.

However all is not lost, I'm going back to running veg, probably a 50/50 mix, so sadly for you lot I'll still be hanging about for some time yet.

I'm going to go full circle, I started on veg then moved to bio.

Now I need to look into the simplest way to filter oil (and make some room in the shed).

Will you get away with doing that in the shed or were the objections just about making bio?

You're welcome to a couple of polypropoline sacks I've got, that would make good course filters like these ...

and a 10" filter housing if you want it.

Will I get away with it, maybe, probably, yes I think so (it'll be a much smaller scale than before with no chemicals).
Should I be doing it, no.

Thanks for the offer, but I have two 400 mic filter bags I use for pre-treating at present, I also have a 10" 1 mic filter unit, although another one may be in order.

Feck, at least we'll still have something to play with at the bbb.

The sad thing is being able to attend the BBB under veg power was one of the considerations of the decision.

Just admit it, you'd miss me.

Glad to be of service.

Talking of the BBB, due to my daughter expecting her baby in August (yes, I'm going to be a granddad, that's made me feel old) the wife wanted us to go on holiday over that weekend this year, but I soon put a stop to that.
