What was the vernier looking device used towards the end of the video?

Looks like they were measuring to get the injectors aligned with the block correctly ... can it be that critical?

The only issue I've had with the injectors was with the electrical connections.  Can't remember the symptoms, but the fix of cleaning and squashing the connectors a little sorted the problem.

always good to remember that when refitting and restarting the car after the injectors have been done to turn the engine over by hand before using the starter. There is a massive possibility of both fuel and oil to fall into the bore when you remove the old ones, especially if you haven't blown the oil away from the injectors before removing. Also have someone on hand with either something to plug the inlet or with a co2 fire extinguisher in case of engine runaway when restarting with excess fuel/oil in the bores.
