Just made some enquiries
« on: December 22, 2015, 05:01:05 PM »
Out of interest I just rang 'Fuller fuels' which are based in Widnes. They have told me that any diesel will run on their fuel without issue. Interesting considering we know this not to be the case unless there process differs to ours??? He did state that they occasionally have reports of fuel filter blockages and gave me the speil about cleaning contaminants from within the fuel system etc. Interesting considering I told him I had a common rail diesel and he didn't say anything.

Myself, son and daughter have run common rail vehicles on B100 over the last 9 years without issue.

I've personally clocked over 90k in my 2.0l HDI.

What you've been told is basically correct.

What about the DPF's???
I only rang them out of curiosity to see what they would say. Surely false advertising and leaving themselves wide open should customers have any issues.

quote a few people here and on VOD with DPFs and no problems at all

plus bio burns cleaner than diesel, so there's less to block up the DPF to start with

I did 180k miles in 2 different common rail vans on veg oil (twin tanked) with no problems too
(no DPFs on those, so no idea about veg+DPF))

DPF in the Passat, occasionally see some poor chap behind getting smoked out by a regen cycle but no issues otherwise, it seems to really love the bio. Certain satisfaction in blasting past overtaking on ex-fryer waste :)

I ran a common rail for a while. No issues until it stuck a con rod through the block.
