Why are we all messing around with manky cooking oil then? Surely we should all have Mr Fusion reactors on our cars that we can just chuck a few banana skins in and then fly around without any roads

Have you seen these ...

Like a handleless Segway.

Watched a young lad on one whilst I was stuck in traffic the other day ... if you can stay on them they look like amazing fun!

Apparently around USD 200 or less if bought direct from  China.

Saw a guy wizzing around portsmouth on one when we went to pick up the passat.  Looked very cool in the dark.

Edit: Less than £100 direct from china

The BBB version will have to run on 16" Mud-Terrains.

The strip down was very interesting, the basics seem quite simple.  The wheel/motor combination looked very interesting ... bet there will be lots going spare in the future as the other components seem a lot more frail.

there where some lads playing with one at the local lidl's carpark last weekend. i asked about battery life and they offered me a go. i declined as falling over onto concrete didn't appeal. only recovered from a damaged ligament in my wrist and a twisted knee and back. i must be getting sensible in my old age. maybe next weekend. with some knee pads.

I read somewhere this week that they are to be band in public places along with the Segway.

How long before a kid or even one of us nutters falls off out into a road, not so much where I live but in a busy city/town and gets flattened by a vehicle.

But then having said that Bikes are just as dangerous.

Yup, all small, electrically powered vehicles should be banned.

Some of the "blue-rinse brigade" on mobility scooters should be locked up for the traffic offences they commit. (Am I allowed to say that these days?)

I really do fancy a go on one of those boards though.  It would have t be on grass and they now do a 10" wheel version which is supposed to be much easier to use.

I remember Back to Future being advertised on packets of Shreddies, what which I had for breakfast.
Thought I'd share that fun anecdote. :P

the kids i was watching are all skate boarders. the skate park is just over the road from the supermarket. can't see that  falling off a skateboard under a truck is any different. no one has banned skateboards. they are more like motorised skateboards than segways and appeal to the same kids.
