Please recommend a hand pump.....

Looks flimsy & the delivery end would be to be lengthened. I'm guessing the screw (hoping!) the screw is the same as a garden hose.

The problem with lengthening the pickup, is that the squeezee bit isn't strong enough to draw the liquid up to the top and start the siphon.
I don't know what to suggest, but I'd avoid that one.

I have one of those red and clear plastic things (not like the one in the link but more like the ez pumps)

I got it free with a drum of meth, and its.fine for the job.  In addition, the fluid can syphon through the pump which is nice when emptying a drum into 25s (until you get down to the last 50 ltrs or so, but then the drum.is light enough to lift anyhow - or you can pump the last out if you're not in a rush / kerbside)

I don't know where you buy them.but I.would check.local auto parts places.

compressed air is the other option. julesandtash uses/used that method. otherwise those cheap barrel puim,ps are supposed to be ok for meth.

Yeah, that's pretty much it - i think the 'light duty' one was more similar to mine.  If you look about, there are loads that look almost the same, but i think mine looks more like the light duty version of the one you posted than any of the others.

Im sure they all do pretty much the same thing though.

I one of those syphon pumps from machinemart. You can empty a ibc with one if you carefull then stand on bricks to get the dregs outwith the inbuilt tam into a large jug.

Compressed air is the way forward. Just a little bit of pressure in the drum (ideally with a regulator at the drum end so even if you leave a valve on you cant ovepressurise anything) and out comes the methanol.

You can either do what I did which is a 22mm pipe to the bottom sleeved inside a 28mm pipe which goes through a 1" to 28mm compression fitting, screwed into a 2" to 1" reducing bush and screw that into one barrel hole or, connect an air fitting into one barrel hole and an outlet pipe which reaches the bottom of the drum to the other.

My suspicion is that the OP wont have a compressed air supply where he is picking up the meth from? : )

Needing one immediately I went to Halfords to look at the one in the 2nd post. What a flimsy POS that particular syphon pump is!

In the end we tried about 8 feet of garden hose with a rubber bung in it.

Worked great, the whole barrel was empty in half an hour!

Does anyone have any experience of using one of these jiggle syphons? I'm thinking of for emptying a 205 litre barrel rather than an IBC.

i have one. works well on veg oil. haven't tried it on meth.

I would imagine it would be difficult if the drum was almost empty.
