I bought a second hand one of these [250L version] off eBay a few months ago for £360 including a load of other stuff. Searched the internet and found they're Chinese. Also spotted that HSE had placed a prohibition notice on them due to a safety issue. I phoned HSE but they didn't have any further details about what their concern had been and the UK distributor who got the notice had stopped selling them. It's got a grundfos type circulation pump for water washing so it might have been this [if it was used to circulate the oil/methoxide by mistake]. Other than that I'm impressed by it. 2 independently switched 1.5kw heaters and you can set the temperature and just leave it. The main pump is an industrial one [according to the limited literature it came with] and works brilliantly.  I haven't used it yet for water washing but pump it over to my Green Genie one to do the cleaning and polishing. Apparently the Chinese manufacturers also had a condensing kit that could be attached for methanol recovery but I haven't found out who the manufacturers were/are.

First time I've heard of HSE banning a processor.  There are many they should ban!

Got any pictures of the set up?

This is the only reference I could find and their package is basically what I bought plus some biodiesel, KOH and containers. The one I bought was in Leeds [owner deceased but not through the processor] and the main distributor was also in that area. I think it's the main distributor's son who's now selling these off on eBay.

Difficult to see from the photos, but looks to be all stainless steel.

I've got vague recollections of someone trying to sell those tanks off cheap ... bottom photo looks familiar.
