the problem with shavings is the need for de-meth, which I don't think he can do....
plus the filter unit will be limited in size so shavings wouldn't be efficient.
Do you know what the dry wash media in it is called?

scratch that, looking at your other thread and what you've got, i'd say go with water washing. you could use the dry wash as a final polish using wood shavings, or whatever, but not really needed.
