Bit tame really, we were doing that when i was 7 or 8.
We used to do it with coffee tins.  ;D

I cant remember the type of fertiliser, but you mixed it with sugar...

We did not manage to get it to explode though, just burn hotter than anything else we'd managed.  I think you needed to get the mixture better and compact it more for explosion?

Wasn't that sodium chlorate (used to be sold as weed killer) and sugar?

It may have been.  It was long enough ago that i cant really pretend to remember.

I was 13 at the time.  Where did kids find out this kind of stuff, i wonder, pre internet?
