Mid batch PID issue - N2000P (also on VOD)
« on: July 10, 2014, 07:55:40 PM »
My PID has just failed, mid batch. All lights are out.

Not an issue, as its had a tough life, and its been getting flaky for a while.

I got my spare, new, never used unit out of the store, and fitted that.

Powers up with EEEEEE along the top row (Process value).

I cant see why the thermocouple would be faulty, so i reverse the polarity - same.
I fit a brand new thermocouple - same.
I reverse the polarity of the new one - same.

Grim. Anyone got any ideas?

Is it relay output or a voltage drive?

Could it be the SSR has gone short circuit?  Have you powered the PID without the SSR attached?

resolved it -

Ive wired a few of these before, and never had to set the thermocouple type.

Possibly as this one had been in storage so long, any factory preset got 'forgotten'?

Anyhow, sorted now - thank you.
