Transit van on Bio?
« on: April 02, 2014, 12:14:19 PM »
After a catalogue of disasters, I think I may have finally made some usable Bio. What's more, I think I may be able to replicate the process.

The Cambelt needs changing on the truck. Smiley face N/A Transit.
Now would be the time to change the IP seal. Judging by previous experience, there is little doubt it will  start leaking.

Question. Which seal is the Bio likely to take out? Is it the shaft out the front, that the Pulley is attached to?
Is it particularly awkward to change?
What size is it?
Where can I get a Viton seal from.

Many thanks.

That shaft seal is the one that will go eventually.  Not hard to get out once the front sprocket is off.  I drilled a 1mm hole in mine, inserted a screw and yanked it out with pliers.  New one tapped in using a deep socket.

Ah, cheers. So I don't have to take any of the housing apart. That's nice to know. Ta.
