I don't know much about it, but what is it that the software on the forum is identifying to block you?
It sounds like you have pretty well changed everything. There must be something you are sending it that identifys you as you. What haven't you changed? You phone line maybe?
Is it identifying something about your phone line and blocking that? Any way of changing it?

Can you log in with your name, using someone elses phone line? Obviously running the risk that their line might get banned too.

What would happen if you used a dongle on your 'puter and tried to log in with that?

Not that I have the first idea about any of this.............

I don't think there is anything Dick can do, the IP block his ISP uses has a black mark against it so chances are anyone browsing from it has the same problem.

I couldn't access it at all from abroad, the big Italian ISP I was using was just outright banned.  I think this is bit of a shame when it comes to sharing knowledge outside of the UK community.

I don't think Paddy knows what he is doing and wont let anyone else with more pc experience take over as he has to have control.
Still we have here so don't really need it, I only really go on now when everywhere else is quiet.

Its a shame the 'donations' dont get spent on sorting out the issues.

It seems as if the site being busy is looked upon as a bad thing (due to the bandwidth issues) but the rest of the world is trying to make their websites busier, to benefit from the revenue that a busy site can then provide.

Paddy has an asset that he just seems to look on as a burden : (

I'm certain that there is enough talent on the forum to sort it out for him, but, for whatever reason, he will not go that route.

The madness of it all is the exact reason why i stopped 'donating' - simply as i don't see the point.  If i'm going to continue to give money away, id like to see something progressive being done with it.

I stumbled across it whilst looking for a translator for firefox.

Tried it on the notebook but it does not work just gives a timed out on any web site will try on the desktop next am.
I will be surprised if it does work. I tried up the pub on my ipad last night and still got the 403 error. Paddy has logged me out and altered my password so why I can't read it as a visitor I don't know! Tried to ring paddy but no reply yet.
