am running this on b100 but since getting colder its sort of missing a bit here n there but 95% smooth running. it starts ok. I'm adding a bit of acetone to my dry washed and settled bio.

Will adding 10% dino help?


done 239 k and engines still good doesn't like hills. its the Isuzu 1.7 engine

That's the Denso pump isn't it?  Might be wise to have it as thin as possible when it gets really cold, since we're really only just starting winter - it'll get worse.  Yes 10% dino will do that but petrol even more so.

yup denso pump. I changed the filter. Will I get any drop out with petrol as I'm noticing gunge in bottom of cubies of my bio diesel I dry wash then put an air stone in cubie for a day or two. I leave the gunge in the bottom 2-3 litres and pour it all into another cubie to settle out again

It's a bit hit and miss with Petrol - sometimes there can be a little dropout, sometimes not.  We suspect this is either glyc or oxidisation products - either way it's wise to mix outside of the tank and stand before use.

last night was the first cold night down to 6 degrees here in Norfolk. Am only noticing a problem when I get down to a 1/4 of a tank or when I first start up. I usually let van run a bit to warm up and have a heater on the  filter on the van to warm housing up.

Is it possible to drain the tank on that at all to see what the liquid at the bottom is like?

Certainly on mine there is a drain bolt (shh don't tell anyone though!)

added about 1% petrol to 20-25 litre cubies and made all the difference. Adding 250-300 mls of petrol to each cubie letting it sit a day or 2 with a wooden airstone in it seems to start better and no more missing as if starving of fuel.

I have had to drain the tank when I was having problems with the van. I put an vacuum pump on the end of the inlet fuel pipe just before the filter and was all liquid.

I drained it all out it was showing empty then put 20 quids worth of diesel in and additive seemed to have flushed system out was good for 2 k before I had to change filter as was getting difficult to start(sure sign of filter plugging) and has been ok since.

having problems again was jerking  so got aa to take a look came up with egr fault codes and injector timing. The garage took egr valve off and said it was clean.

They said my injectors are getting blocked up so need to change them or put some diesel in to flush it out. I've put about a litre of atf to 3/4 s of a tank.

Any additives you can recommend will prob stick a fivers worth of petrol in it.
