Eventually ive been organised to make glogs on the same day as bio!

Ive standardised the glog length to 13.5 inches, as that size is just slightly longer than our rayburn firebox.  This means that the glog lies at an angle when loaded, and only falls down when it is partially burnt, meaning that the newly loaded glog does not smother the embers of the old one.

Anyhow, we did about 55-off, which is almost 19 meters.  At that point it got late, so ive pre-mixed the sawdust for later 'stuffing' and have 60 lts (non-compacted) of that put aside for another day.

At present, our DHW, CH, and cooking are all running off them nicely, with the only caveat that the rayburn works best on them when its on the hot side - which is fine for cooking, but we keep having to dump heat from the boiler, either by running all the radiators when we dont really want them on, or by running the hot tap down the drain!

What you need is a large thermal store   ;)

Just think, soon you'll be able to use that waste heat to heat up your oil for processing.
