As my children have discovered, if you compress the slice of bread in the pattern you want, those bits come out lighter.  So they do smiley faces and the like on their toast.  I'm sure you could do a hilux one in your standard toaster

yea old copper basher could knock those out with his plasma cutter for about a fiver a time. tescos at 3 in the morning grab a couple of car  park lights weld em together there you go.
