Toothpaste
« on: August 19, 2013, 10:35:46 PM »
You know how it is sometimes when you've got WVO deep engrained in your skin, and no amount of soap or surface cleaners seem to shift it?  After you wash the soap off your skin is still tacky to the touch?

Tried a bit of toothpaste today, worked immediately - I'm very impressed!

I was using toothpaste as a semi dry wash for ages in my semi dry wash tower! My bio was very minty!

I may try using listerine instead of meth from now on!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

I find cheese works well. No matter what I have on my hands, I can be sure of one thing. If I go and cut some cheese, it will be left on the block.

So what mad you try toothpast of all things ?

I know it has all sorts of uses,
like a cutting agent for removing oxidisation on those plastic headlights you get on modern cars.

In the bathroom looking around for something more serious.  Bleach, no, shampoo, no, surface cleaner (tried it) no, hmm, toothpaste - I wonder?

It was that or wash my hands in IPA or white spirits to try and shift it.

I now wonder how good it would be at cleaning the outside of 60l collection drums.

old latex gloves are another one. being the tidy organised slob that i am not they get left lying  around for months till i find one stuck to something i need. usually a spanner. cant get the stuff off . very much like pine resin. have changed to nitrile instead more expensive but much stronger. haven't had any long enough to see what happens to them.

Petrol shifts it off tools and hard things but not sure you'd want to wash your hands in it...
