Would I be right in thinking that Squidward has morphed into Aliis Volat propriis, AKA RM?

Seems he's Lord of the Flies now though.

I dare not suggest a deodorant can plus a lighter as he'll burn the place down ;)

If you have an air pistol, you can fire it at them without any pellets in it.  The compressed air itself stuns them.

Might fit better with your dirty harry desires? : )

...as a kid, i had an archer fish - id stun the flies with compressed air from the pistol, chill them in the fridge (at the back, so noone noticed!) and then put them in the above water vegetation on a split layer aquarium - they would 'wake up' and then the archer fish would notice them

I thought firing an air pistol with the pellet damaged them, or is that another bloke-down-the-pub tale?

No mention of my BSA Magnum 240 though!

Quote from the article.

I once had a P1 that dieseled a lot, until Don Walker at Beeman had me dry-fire it on full power for several shots. The problem went away, and the seal is still in there seven years later.

So what happens to a gun when it diesels?

Does that mean the oil in it ignites under pressure?

That would make sense.

PHP's are ok, springers not so good as it damages the springs and the piston.

I used to have an air rifle back home that was accurate enough to shoot flies landing on the wall in the garden!  ;D

Dieseling is when you over lube the barrel and the lead pellet ignites the excess lube, I guess by friction.

My .22 air rifle will hit a weighted piece of string at 40 foot, at least 75% of the time. Not quite sure if the 25% misses is me or the gun. Its got an exhaust clamp holding the barrel onto the stock...........

Interesting... "The magnum 240 has become a true collectible and is getting very difficult to find now in excellent condition"

I think mine is still wrapped in an oily rag in the loft somewhere, guess I'll hang onto it for another decade before cashing it in then!
