Due to me making a bit of an error, our log burner is a bit on the large side -
http://www.woodwarmstoves.co.uk/products/fireview-range/20kwfireview.ashx(Maximum Log Length: 635mm)
Im wondering about the following -
Fill a cubie with fine sawdust - pack in as much as possible (which may not be easy)
Keep said cubies by reactor, for when the hot glyc is drained.
Drain into cubies, untill brimmed.
Let stand for a while.
Screw on perforated cap.
Turn upside down to drain excess glyc.
Replace perforated cap with normal cap.
Result - glyc log that can be kept outside until needed.
(as i understand it, the HDPE, when burnt properly, is about as non-toxic as anything else?)
Concerns -
Packing the sawdust tight enough?
Glyc then not 'fitting'
Log too soft to burn properly (not compressed enough)
Burning the plastic.
Does anyone who is used to burning glyc logs have any comments?
Thanks, Julian
