Hi Guys,
Just introducing myself before I start plaguing you all with questions!
I'm Simon, and come from telford. I've been running my 300tdi disco on svo mixed with diesel. I am fortunate ( ;D) enough to know Ged (GedsJeep) who has been steering me the right way towards setting up to filter wvo. He also pointed me towards this forum where I must say I'm hugely impressed with the wiki.
Currently in the process of converting the discovery to twin tank (again with Ged's nudges in the right direction), so will be running that on wvo, but my mrs had a focus tddi, which runs pretty nice on bio but wvo is a bit dodgy in it. I believe it's a vp30 pump, but anyway I digress. I will be looking into dipping my toes into making some Bio, once ive got on top of my filtration setup for my disco.
Anyone on here around telford?
Cheers

Hi Simon and welcome.
My condolences both on knowing Ged and running a Disco!
-
Hi and welcome. I suspect Ged has had something to say about LandRover ownership too
-
Hi,
Not Telford but I am Nr worcester. Not too far away.
-
Thanks for the welcome guys,
Thus far, Ged has been quite polite and restrained about my Land rover ownership, although i guess there is time! He's been a great help with a few things so far, I am in his debt! hopefully I can start fabricating him some useful bits once I start getting an understanding of the drying methods etc and start paying his favours back.
worcester isnt too far from me no 8) if theres anything I can help with (pretty handy with machining and fabrication with access to equipment for both) gimme a shout

Hi Simon, welcome to the forum.
You'll find a better class of idiots here.
-
God not another one running a "common fault" ;D

Thanks for that I will keep it in mind but I have got most equipment to machine and fabricate so you might get some technical stuff I can't do!

friends are over rated ;)
besides, i can run faster than him......
-
actually, i can run faster than his lawnrover
-
Welcome to the forum. I see you have had a fine introduction. Things can only get worse, that's why we love it.
-
Ha! Opened the flood gates now lol.
Of course the "you drive a piece of shit" actually implies said piece of shit actually drives, which, of course, it doesn't. Currently sat on my drive after it decided that transfer box gears and a substantial chunk of transfer box casing were overrated and left them in a neat pile somewhere in the woods at coney green farm... I'm currently plucking up the motivation to replace it lol.
However, when it does run it still does more mpg than the audi managed at the weekend Ged, but I'm learning from my thieving neighbour's lesson and not gonna try it on one of the 2 remaining drums of petrol mixed with svo :o his car also doesn't drive currently!
-
would that be the petrol audi that left here with nearly 200 kilos of oil in the boot?
wonder why........
-
thats the one, plus 2 adults and 2 kids. and a pushchair, and full tank of petrol ::)
-
cant think why then...... :-X

One of your vehicles is a LandRover and the other runs on that light petroleum distillate normally reserved for lawn mowers, chainsaws and concrete mixers.
I'm surprised Ged talks to you let alone helps you :)
Pluck up the courage to sort the transfer box, it's not too bad a job really. You must have been giving it some serious beans off road to do that much damage, even Mark the womble hasn't managed to do that yet
-
I actually wasnt at the time it went, but had been giving it plenty earlier on in the weekend recovering people in standard vehicles driving into stuff that would have been ambitious in a challenge truck. The joys of marshalling, breaking my own stuff to save someone elses!
-
ahh, i should have mentioned....
simon is in the "very advanced" class of offroading and modifying....
still cant feckin drive though

What happened to the Audi Jules ?
I've managed to brake it yes, well, it managed that on it's own.
So far it's not broken due to my muddy adventures, but I'll keep working on it, actually that's the wrong phrase, I'll keep trying to brake it.
You end up working on them even if you don't drive it.

Yeah I can swing spanners and weld better than I can drive. I have calmed down in recent years though, the loss of 4 vertibrea through my stupidity sticks in the memory a bit. Still have my moments though, like anyone.
Only just got the landy relatively speaking. Always been a lada niva kind of guy! However my mrs wasnt so keen on the idea of ratchet strapping the kids to the roll cage in the back of it for some reason, so had to get something with seats in!

Spoken like a true vegger, you'll fit right in.
-
I'd have sat the kids in front and strapped the mrs to the roll cage paying special attention to the gob area.
-
she can run faster than him......
-
^ True that! She has the upper hand on me on most physical attrributes tbh. I walk/stumble/run a bit like bambi on ice but with a bit less motivation ;-)

What happened to the Audi Jules ?
Nothing mate - I was talking about simonallen having a LandRover and a petrol car, not me. We still have the Audi and the RangeRover

I must read posts properly in the future.
I did think it was unlike you to have one of those cars in the family.
