Oh dear ... think I've broken the wiki.
« on: September 01, 2011, 10:26:30 PM »

Just doing the manuals page and have a problem with a couple of pdf files. I made one from a word file using Distiller 5, it opens localy and uploads ok but IE locks when you try to open it via the wiki.  I've up loaded the MS Word version for the time being.

I have the same problem with a file Keith (MaxPrint), it's located here ... http://www.biopowered.co.uk/wiki/File:Styilong_YL-6e_pid_English_manual.pdf

Does anyone else have the same problem and can some one offer a solution?

Other pdfs I've up loaded open fine ... I'm stumped.

Odd stuff - in Firefox 6.0.1 it loads fine every time.
But in IE8 it seems to stop 100k in and pause for ages - sometimes it then goes on to read the rest in fine.

Adobe PDF reader is a pile o-crap when it comes to browser integration.

I suppose it might be something to do with the server provides the file, but then surely that would affect firefox too?

I appear to have sorted it by gopying the Word file, bit by bit, to Corel and using Corels inbuilt pdf maker.

I'll contact Keith to see if he has the data for the Styilong YL-6e before he pgf'ed it.
