Ive just had the following quote from Sidwil for Methanol supply:
A) £170 + £100 Shipping - 1 barrel = £1.32 PL
B) £330 + £100 Shipping - 2 barrels = £1.05
C) £390 + £100 Shipping - 2 barrels + 25kg KOH - but they are out of stock currently
D) £680 + £115 Shipping - 1 IBC. = £0.80 PL
I've done the maths so you don't have to ;D
These prices are becoming worryingly high so I'm looking at a meth share or split of some sort to get the price down a bit.
Im happy to take a barrel or 2 or even more if we can sort an IBC split.
I'm in South wales but can travel.
I tried Barretine too, but they don't want to be bothered with small amounts and put me onto Cotswold Chemicals?
Any other suppliers out there that may be able to help?

Love loading up their carraige charges don't they. ADR isn't anywhere near those prices. ADR on an ibc cost me (retail to me without an account) £73 inc vat from Scotland.

On the other current Meth thread (TTony) he recently purchased 4 drums (820 litres) for £560 with free delivery = 68ppl. I just need to find out where from as it looks the best price I've seen for a while

Caught out by the VAT thing on that other thread it was £140/drum + VAT so 82ppl. I ordered because I couldn't find any cheaper (including JennyChem).
That was with Barretine but I am a long time account holder with them (many years ago went through their account creation process, lots of forms to fill in).
Normally I share an order and get 4 drums + chemicals, only placed a small order this time (paying the pallet carriage) in the hope that by the time I order again the prices will have come down.
Last time I ordered it was £98 + VAT per barrel, with three or four delivered inclusive of carriage. Everything has got more expensive and I can only carry on what with seeing 152pp+ at the pumps for diesel.
An electric car is seeming more and more tempting as time goes by - though I know they too will inevitably end up incurring a charge per mile driven to cover lost petrochemical duty revenue.

I will need to order in the next 2 weeks. If anyone wants 2 barrels at cost (1000 litres = £680+115 shipping/5 barrels = £163 per barrel ) 80ppl let me know. I'll do all the work and pay, you can just collect the barrel.
If I have no takers I'll just order 2 barrels at £1.05 PL. >:(
An estimate on the news today said that if Oil reaches $140 per barrel which it now expects due to Russia, then Fuel at the pump would reach £1.70! you heard it here first.

No surprises with that, the only way seems to be up.
I think a lot of people will end up in fuel poverty, not just road fuel to get to work but those stuck with heating oil as well. And of course the cost of goods will go up to cover the increases in transport costs.

The quote i had last month From Sidwill was £680 For an IBC + £115 shipping today has gone up by 10% to £750 +Shipping.
This = £0.87ppl . KOH sack now back in stock.
I will place my order on monday (after my credit card cut off date) unless someone knows where I can get one delivered cheaper?
When I receive the IBC at my works premises I will drain it off (from a FLT) into 5 Plastic barrels. If anyone wants one or 2 you are welcome to collect at cost (£177.32 per barrel)from Newport South wales or at a later date from my House in Abersychan. i will even throw in a cuppa and a bicci

Sidil were selling a single barrel last month for £170, so a big increase on last month's price.
The delivery from sidwil for a single or double barrel is £100
So I make that £1.53!

I remember quite a few years ago now I bought an ibc of reclaimed from Trinity for something like £260. Only a year ago I was paying 42ppl

I can imagine, you can only give an accurate quote when someone phones for a product as the next day the price may have changed.
